At The Trough, 100% of tips (tronc) are received by our brilliant team.

here’s how it works

 

The process of allocating tronc is independent from The Trough it is governed by an elected committee of our employees lead by an elected tronc master. Front and back of house positions are represented and every employee has the opportunity to be on the committee.

All gratuities received are passed to the tronc master for distribution to all employees.  The Trough does not charge administration fees to facilitate tronc payments to our team.

 

The Trough is a national living wage employer with the majority of roles paying more than the statutory minimum with tronc being paid on top.
